About the game
Classic Solitaire (or Klondike) is the most popular and classic card game played by arranging cards in a specific layout and following particular rules. The setup includes seven columns of tableau cards with the last card in each column face-up, a stockpile with remaining cards, a waste pile for flipped cards from the stockpile, and four foundation piles organized by suit in ascending order from Ace to King. The objective is to move all the cards to the foundation piles in the correct order.
Key rules include moving only face-up cards, placing cards in descending order and alternating colors in the tableau, moving groups of sequenced cards, and only placing Kings into empty tableau columns. Cards are flipped from the stockpile to the waste pile when no moves are available in the tableau. Winning requires revealing all face-down cards and properly sequencing cards through strategic moves.
Classic Solitaire controls
- Move cards by clicking or tapping on a face-up card and then clicking on the destination pile or column where it can be legally placed according to the rules (descending alternate colors in the tableau, ascending suit order in foundations).
- Flip cards from the stockpile by clicking or tapping on the stockpile to reveal new cards to play.
- Move groups of sequenced cards as a single unit onto another tableau column if the move respects the game's rules.
- Only Kings can be placed in empty tableau spots.
- Use the waste pile cards by clicking or tapping to move them to tableau or foundation piles if the move is legal.
- Redeal the stockpile by clicking the waste pile after it is depleted to flip cards back into the stockpile for reuse.
